Our customer is one of the largest supermarket chains in the UK and is predominantly food and grocery focussed. They have
around 9m customers passing through their doors and over 118,000 colleagues across the business who work hard to deliver great service to them.

In 2020, we were appointed to carry out planned and reactive maintenance for all fixed fire suppression systems across 267 stores and 18 distribution centres in the UK and Ireland.

The scope of maintenance works covers sprinkler systems, fire pumps, gaseous suppression systems, and fire hydrants in line with all British Standards on a weekly, quarterly, 6- monthly and annual basis.

As a business, our client has an indisputable reputation for innovation, and this has significantly informed our programme of proactive maintenance works over the last two years. We are currently undertaking Water Storage Tank ROVs (Remote Operated Vehicles) to provide a condition report following internal inspection. This intends to prolong the lifespan of the tank through early identification of minor repairs or refurbishment works.

We are also piloting a Fuel Polishing System. This prolongs the life of a diesel fire pump by cleaning the diesel fuel to remove build-up of microscopic particles which can cause accelerated wear to fuel system components and result in poor performance. Fuel Polishing also results in cleaner emissions from the diesel pump itself.

The contract is managed by a dedicated national account team, experienced regional service engineers and weekly test engineers.
